Maintenance codes

Every game in the archive has its own page at /archive/<game id>. Adding a short code to the end of that URL shows a maintenance record on the page: when the game was last serviced, where, and what was done to it. Nothing is stored anywhere — the record lives entirely in the URL, so the link (or a QR code of it) on the cartridge or box is the record.

How the code is built

/archive/abc123/092226cbhosk
  1. Game id — the id from the game index (same as the plain archive page).
  2. Date (optional) — 6 digits, MMDDYY. 092226 = September 22, 2026. An invalid date (like 134526) is ignored.
  3. Work codes — any letters from the list below, in any order.
  4. Location code (optional) — where the work was done.

Upper or lower case both work, and dashes, dots or underscores are ignored, so 092226-C-BH-OSK is the same as 092226cbhosk. Unknown letters are skipped instead of breaking the page. If the game id isn't in the archive but the code is valid, the page still shows the id and the maintenance record.

All codes

cWorkCartridge shell and PCB cleaned
bWorkSave battery replaced
bhWorkSave battery replaced with a battery holder — takes a standard CR1616 coin cell, so future swaps need no soldering
sWorkCustom label sticker made — the original label was missing or damaged
oskLocationOsaka, Japan

bh already means the battery was replaced, so b and bh together only show the holder line. Longer codes are matched first, so bh is never read as b + h. To add a code, add it to SERVICE_CODES in src/lib/maintenanceCode.js — it shows up here automatically.
